Vox’s Water Safari finished it’s first expedition last week. With national security alerts due to rioting and transitions in government leadership, the Water Safari team had to wait several days before receiving a new clearance status to repair wells. After meeting with local government the team worked overtime to restore as many dormant wells as possible. While teams were out repairing wells, our medical team was working to certify instructors and train local leaders in health and hygiene. By the end of the expedition, the team was able to service the entire Anacuabe District and fix enough wells to provide water to 40,000+ people. The new repair initiative is slated to service many more districts in Mozambique in the days ahead.
