Leadership Summit: Meluco

Vox recently hosted a leadership summit on sustainable clean water development in Meluco, Mozambique. Ranking officials from local, provincial and national levels attended. For many, it was the first time they had every rehabilitated a non-functioning well.

The workshop gave way to dialogue and newly-defined action steps that will help districts address issues that undermine sustainability. Installing or rehabilitating a well is the easy part. Keeping it going is the real work. We look forward to seeing how this conference will give way to more strategic activities around sustainability development. Attached is an image of the well that was restored during the summit. It’s one of 2 wells that now services 5,879 people.
