Frequently asked questions
What does it cost to give someone clean drinking water?
It costs $40 to provide clean drinking water to someone in rural Africa. A new school well drilling project starts at $12,000 and can benefit 300-500 people.
Where does the money go after my fundraiser is finished?
Unless you are raising funds to sponsor the construction of a complete new well or latrine, your donations will be allocated to Vox’s water projects. This may include well repairs, well restorations, or contributions combined with other resources to help construct a new well or school latrine.
How long does it take to complete a water project?
From the time your fundraiser is complete to the time you water project is finished can take anywhere from 6 months to a year.
What if I don't reach my fundraising goal?
We send you the Vox cone of shame to wear for a week—just kidding! If you don’t hit your goal, no problem. We can either extend the length of your campaign, or combine the amount you raised with another campaign to underwrite a Vox water project. Either way, we’ll always keep you informed about how the funds were used.
What if I raise more than my fundraising amount?
Awesome! All of the money that you raise will be applied to a Vox water project to help even more people access clean drinking water.
Can I extend the length of my fundraiser?
For sure! Contact us and we’ll work with you to define an effective timeline.
Are donations to my fundraiser tax-deductible?
